Return to Architects - Home Page
The Building Maintenance Section is an integral part of the Architectural Consultancy and comprises of a team of Building Surveyors and Building Services Engineers.
The Section is responsible for the provision of a diverse, comprehensive and integrated range of construction related services to Council Directorates, individual schools and a number of external Client bodies. The work of the section closely interacts with the functions of other units within the Consultancy and fundamentally supports all Council Directorates in the delivery of their services. Its primary function is the provision of professional services relating to non-housing building and building services repairs and maintenance including re-active, pro-active and planned maintenance programmes. This involves providing advice and information; identifying priority needs; determining scope of work and resources required; project management; contractor management; account validation and certification of payment.
The Building Maintenance Section incorporates the Consultancy's Asbestos Unit which contributes to all of the above activities providing specialist advice and guidance.
The work of the section also includes advice on development and implementation of a range of 'good practice' service contracts, particularly in respect of building services.
