The Licensing Act 2003 established fundamental changes to licensing law and has brought about significant changes.
It has replaced all Justices Licences (as issued by Magistrates Courts) for the sale and supply of alcohol, and all licences issued by North East Lincolnshire Council that previously covered Public Entertainment, Theatre, Cinema and Late Night Refreshment, with a single 'Premises Licence'.
Late-night refreshment houses, night cafés and takeaways supplying hot food or drink between 11.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m. are now required to apply for a ' New Premises Licence'.
Registered Clubs previously issued with a Club Registration Certificate to cover the above activities must apply for a Club Premises Certificate under the new regime.
