New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Section 58 Notice

Notice of substantial roadworks for road purposes

Roadworks information for utility companies

Under Section 58 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 the execution of street works (works by a utility company laying cables etc) may be restricted for a period of between 6 months and 5 years following the completion of substantial road works, (works of the highway in carrying out improvements) depending on the works type.

The aim of this process is to provide an opportunity for utilities to carry out their works either before or during the highway improvements, preventing excavation of newly laid surfaces.

The downloadable document on this page contain Section 58 Notice information. Subject to the exemptions of the Act and Regulations under it, no street works may be executed for a set period from completion of the works described without the written consent on North East Lincolnshire Council.
