  • Friday 23 December – Reduced service from 7:30am to 5:30pm

  • Wednesday 28 December to Saturday 31 December – Reduced service from 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • Sunday 1 January to Monday 2 January – No service
  • Tuesday 3 January – Normal service resumes

Dial a Ride

The office will be closed from Wednesday 21 December to Wednesday 4 January. No bookings can be made between these times. Should passengers require a trip over the Christmas and New Year period, they will need to book in advance.

TRANSPENNINE EXPRESS

Friday 23 December

Normal service with the exception of alterations to some early morning / late night services due to engineering work.

Saturday 24 December

A normal service will operate until late evening. The train service will finish earlier than normal.

Sunday 25 December and Monday 26 December

No service.

Tuesday 27 December

TransPennine Express services will start later in the morning on Tuesday 27 December. Normal service with the exception of the below alterations due to engineering work:

Engineering work at Manchester Piccadilly station:

Mid-week early morning and late evening TransPennine Express services will not call at Manchester Piccadilly. Customers will need to change at either Manchester Victoria or Manchester Oxford Road for rail connections and for local walking routes into Manchester city centre.

Wednesday 28 December to Friday 30 December

Normal service with the exception of the below alterations due to engineering work:

Engineering work at Manchester Piccadilly station:

Mid-week early morning and late evening TransPennine Express services will not call at Manchester Piccadilly. Customers will need to change at either Manchester Victoria or Manchester Oxford Road for rail connections and for local walking routes into Manchester city centre.

Saturday 31 December

Normal service with the exception of the below alterations due to engineering work:

Engineering work at Manchester Piccadilly station:

There will be no train services between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly.

Services between Manchester Airport and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh will start and terminate at Preston. Replacement buses will be provided between Preston and Manchester Airport.

Replacement coaches will be provided between Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport which customers will need to use to connect between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly stations. Alternatively, it is approximately a 15 minute walk between these locations.

There will be no train services between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly.

Tuesday 3 January

Normal service resumes.

East Midlands Railway

Due to industrial action customers are advised to only travel if necessary. Most East Midlands Railway services will operate between 7:30am and 6.30pm only, unless specified.

Saturday 24 December

No service running.

Due to industrial action taking place by Unite the Union and RMT, East Midlands Railway are unable to run a service on Christmas Eve.

Sunday 25 December and Monday 26 December

No service running.

Tuesday 27 December to Friday 30 December

Services across the East Midlands Railway network will start later than normal.

Some alterations to some morning / late night services due to engineering work.

Saturday 31 December

Services across the East Midlands Railway network will start later than normal.

Trains on the Norwich / Nottingham – Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street route will run between Norwich / Nottingham and Sheffield only. Replacement buses will run between Sheffield and Stockport. 

Sunday 1 January

Most routes will be closed and no rail replacement bus services will be provided.

Monday 2 January

Trains on the Norwich / Nottingham – Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street route will run between Norwich / Nottingham and Sheffield only. Replacement buses will run between Sheffield and Stockport. 

Some late night trains may be altered due to engineering work.

Tuesday 3 January

Due to industrial action, routes will be closed and no rail replacement bus services will be provided.

North East Lincolnshire Council cannot be responsible for any problems caused by errors or changes in information given.
