Community Safety Strategy - Background
Safer Communities Partnership Working Together in North East Lincolnshire" (Crime and Disorder Reduction Strategy)
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 requires local authorities (North East Lincolnshire Council in this case) and the police ('A' Division of Humberside Police which has the same borders as North East Lincolnshire Council) to take a lead role to work together, and with others (e.g. Probation, Health, voluntary and business organisations) to devise a strategic plan to reduce crime and disorder in their area over three years from 2005 to 2008.
The plan has been designed to target those issues which concern local communities, and the organisations and agencies which work with them.
Safer Communities Partnership is the mechanism for drawing up, and co-ordinating the delivery of, the Community Safety Strategy for this area.
