Immingham Resource Centre
Background
The Centre was developed on the former Immingham Lower School site and is set in approximately 7.2 hectares of grounds in Margaret Street. It consists of three main buildings: the Centre itself; Immage Multi Media Studios and the former Sports Hall. It is a single storey building of clasp construction offering approximately 29,000 sq. ft.
The Centre has been extensively redeveloped over the years to provide a modern, well appointed base for the provision of training, work, business, social, recreational and cultural opportunities for the population of Immingham and surrounding areas.
Purpose
A multi functional building providing Office accommodation, Conference facilities, Training and meeting rooms, on-site cafeteria, an activity room available for leisure, sporting activities and children's parties, reception area, exhibition space and extensive free car parking.
Currently host to a number of Business, Voluntary and Community Organisations including the excellent Immingham Museum Services the Centre offers office accommodation to new fledgling businesses on easy in and out licence terms.
There are also a variety of activities held at the Centre, such as vocational and non-vocational courses, football training, dance and social groups, keep fit and a number of community activities, citizens advice and support services.
Aims and Objectives
The Centre aims to ensure their facilities meet the requirements and standards of users to enable increased local skill levels; engagement and development of the local community; access to social, leisure and cultural activities and personal capacity building.
