Preparing for a Funeral
The following information aims to give you a better understanding of what's involved in making funeral arrangements. This will help you make a more informed choice when the time comes.
North East Lincolnshire Council is by law designated as a burial and cremation authority. In this capacity it provides cemeteries and the crematorium. The council does not, however, provide the same services as a funeral director.
Grimsby Cemeteries and Crematorium Office is able to provide:
- Advice and support for arranging a funeral
- Advice and assistance to families' prior to and after the funeral
- Assist families in making funeral arrangements that do not wish to use a funeral director
- Advice to people with limited funds to arrange a funeral (Self help funerals)
