Scartho Road and Cleethorpes Cemeteries

Whilst there are several cemeteries within the county of North East Lincolnshire only two are managed by the Local Authority:

Scartho Road Cemetery

Scartho Road Cemetery

First opened it gates in 1889 and extends to 67 acres. During 2007-08 there were 130 interments and 108 burials of cremated remains.

Cleethorpes Cemetery

Cleethorpes Chapel

Beacon Avenue, opened its gates in 1877, is smaller in size covering approximately 26 acres and the number of interments during 2007-08 reflects this with 68 interments and 68 burials of cremated remains taking place.

Both cemeteries have a chapel that may be used by the bereaved as part of the funeral service.

The Grimsby Cemeteries and Crematorium Office has the statutory registers and plans for the two cemeteries in North East Lincolnshire that the Council is responsible for.
