Resident/Non-Resident Charges

Cremation

Resident status is based upon the residential address of the deceased at the time of death.

The Five Year Rule:

In cases where the deceased resided outside of the county at the time of death but during the five years immediately prior had been a resident of the county. Upon production of suitable documentary evidence (utility bill, driving licence etc) a residents fee will be charged.

Evidence must be produced the day prior to the service.

Grave Pre-Purchase

Resident status is based upon the residential address of the individual requesting to be the Registered Grave Deed Owner.

The Five Year Rule:

If suitable documentary evidence is produced to confirm residency within the county during the five years immediately prior to the date of purchase, a residents fee will be charged.

In cases of joint or multiple owners, if at least one of the individuals requesting to be a Registered Grave Deed Owner is a resident of the county - a residents fee will be charged.

Evidence must be produced prior to the purchase.

Grave Purchase at the Time of Interment

We acknowledge that the purchase is for the benefit of the deceased rather than the person(s) that will be the registered owner(s). If either the deceased or the grave purchaser is a resident of the county, then the residents fee will be charged for the grave purchase.

The Five Year Rule:

If suitable documentary evidence is produced to confirm residency within the county during the last five years immediately prior to the purchase - residents fee will be charged.

Evidence must be produced the day prior to the interment.

Interment Fees

Residents status is based upon the residential address of the deceased.

The Five Year Rule:

If suitable documentary evidence is produced to confirm (living) residency within the county during the last five years immediately prior to the date of interment - a residents fee will be charged.

Evidence must be produced the day prior to the interment.

Memorial Applications/Approvals

Residents status is based upon the address of the Registered Grave Deed Owner, as shown on the records held by the Grimsby Cemeteries and Crematorium Office. Changes of address must be registered with the Cemeteries and Crematorium Office and suitable documentary evidence produced.

Please Note: In cases where suitable documentary evidence is produced to the Grimsby Cemeteries and Crematorium Office at a later date reimbursements can be made.
