A public entertainment licence is required at an event where live music plays a substantial part. This includes live bands, recorded sounds, discos, etc.

The Local Council issue the licenses and may attach a schedule of conditions imposing certain restrictions to ensure that local residents are not unnecessarily disturbed and to protect the health, safety and welfare of those attending the event.

Further information on these requirements can be obtained from our Law and Democratic Services Department,
