| You must look after the environment when planning your event. For example, you must make sure that the site is suitable for the type of event that you are planning, and take account of local concerns such as noise and litter.
Noise associated with events can cause significant problems. In fact if a public address system is to be used on site, the sound levels should not exceed 107 db in audience areas.
In particular, any event that finishes after midnight (and in some cases even earlier) will require exceptional planning to prevent complaints being received and the possible intervention of environmental health officers. Some thought should also be given to the siting of potentially noisy equipment such as generators and compressors.
Event organisers are strongly advised to contact the Council's Environmental Health Department if this is likely to be an issue.
Catering and public health matters must be considered and the Council's environmental health officers will offer advice about specific requirements.
In any case, anyone providing catering facilities should be in possession of the relevant food hygiene certificates. |
