Community Strategy

What is the Community Strategy?

The Government has required each Council to work in Partnership with a Local Strategic Partnership to prepare a Community Strategy for its area. This is intended to improve, in a sustainable way, the economic, social and environmental well-being of the area. The Community Strategy identifies and delivers the most important things which need to be done in our area and keeps track of progress made.

Community Plan Outcomes 2006 - 2009

The Community Strategy includes:

1) The long-term vision for the area,

2) The action plan identifying shorter-term priorities and activities

3) Arrangements for monitoring the implementation of the Community Strategy; for its review and for reporting progress to local people.
