Implementing Electronic Government Statement
In February 2001, the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions announced details of the Local Government Online initiative. The announcement required all English authorities to submit an annual Implementing Electronic Government statement (IEG) to DTLR. These statements will be used to allocate the £350m which is available to authorities as additional borrowing, and to identify priority areas for further work at local and national level.
