Authorities Monitoring Reports
The Localism Act 2011 removes the need for Local Authorities to prepare and submit to the Secretary of State an Annual Monitoring Report each December. The requirement to report on the progress of the implementation of the Local Development Scheme and achievement of the Local Development Documents is not removed by the Act. Instead Local Authorities must prepare Authorities Monitoring Reports which focus on what is most appropriate to their communities in the interests of transparency. The can also prepare reports for shorter periods if it is deemed appropriate.y
The Council is reviewing (February 2012) the processes for the preparation of its future Authorities Monitoring Reports further information will be provided here in due course.
