The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), sets out North East Lincolnshire Council's policy for community involvement and consultation in the preparation and review of its planning policy documents. It also contains guidance on consultation procedures for planning application's.

Community involvement is an important part of the process of preparing the development plan for North East Lincolnshire. The aim of the Statement of Community Involvement is to help ensure community ownership of the development plan, and to strengthen community involvement in planning over time. It also aims to improve overall representation and involvement across all sections of the community.

The Council will be reviewing the adopted Statement of Community Involvement during 2012, with the aim of adopting a revised document in 2013. Further information relating to the timetable for the preparation of the revised document is set out in the Local Development Scheme 2012.
