This page gives an overview of the council's organisational change programme, Future Shape.
North East Lincolnshire Council recently began a four year programme of change; responding to the need to improve efficiency, reduce waste and offer better value for money in what we do.
By 2014 the council will be a smaller and smarter organisation. Employees will work flexibly from fewer council properties, making better use of ICT and streamlining processes across the organisation. The council will be organised differently, with fewer managers to help speedier decision making.
The council will work more closely with communities and citizens, involving them more in what and how things are done by the council and its partners. It will seek to:
- make better use of information about community needs to decide how, where and what the council does;
- develop the role of councillors to act as community leaders;
- find the best way to deliver services, including working with a range of different partners;
- improve our response to customers, and be more consistent in how we do this.
Some things we do, and the ways we do them, may change, but only if there is evidence of ways to work more effectively and efficiently.
