Note:

1. It is ONS policy to publish population estimates rounded to at least the nearest hundred persons. Estimates are sometimes provided in units to facilitate further calculations. They cannot be accurate to the level of detail implied by unit figures.
2. The elderly age group (85+) has been split from mid-98 into two age groups of 85 - 89, 90+ and this is reflected in these sheets. The accuracy of these estimates will be affected mainly be the accuracy of Age Reporting at Death. If there are small numbers in the 90+ age groups by sex then only the totals for these two age groups have been supplied.
