Cycle parking

Find out about safe cycle parking on Cycle Hub Lincs. This includes parking at the Cycle Hub as well as access to the Abbey Walk cycle compound, both in Grimsby Town Centre.

There are also cycle parking facilities available at all local schools and colleges, Grimsby Hospital, sports and leisure centres, doctors surgeries, medical centres and local parks. However, if you know of a location where new or additional cycle parking would be useful please let us know and we’ll try and get some installed.

Security tips

No matter where you leave your bike always remember to lock it up. The majority of bicycle thefts are opportunist ones, so no matter how long you are leaving your bike for it is essential that you take adequate steps to make sure that your bike is still there when you return.

The aim of this project is to help remove barriers for cycling and enable people to either get on a bike for the first time, keep their current bikes safe and road worthy, improve their confidence and skills knowledge through cycle maintenance training, or improve health and fitness through access to cycling.

You can get involved with this project as a volunteer or end user. If you would like more information please email [email protected] or check out North East Lincolnshire – Cycle Project | R-evolution to find out where these sessions are currently operating.

Doctor Bike

Doctor Bike, in collaboration with Cycle Hub Lincs, provide pop up repair sessions throughout the year at various community-based locations within North East Lincolnshire. These events offer free 10-minute appointments with a qualified bike mechanics who carry out an initial assessment of the bike and can fix minor repairs such as punctures and brakes. These sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to check their bikes are safe and road worthy.

Throughout the winter these events are rebranded to Be Safe Be Seen, these sessions offer the same repair service as the Dr Bike events in the Summer with the added bonus of providing free bike lights. It’s essential to the cycling community that cyclists are visible on the roads to reduce the amount of accidents on the road

We’re always looking for suitable locations for the team to visit, this could be your workplace, the village hall or your local park. All we need is an area of hardstanding (such as a car park or school playground) with enough space for our team’s van and 3m x 3m gazebo. The site must have good access from the road so its easy for people to find and needs to be available between 3pm and 6pm (on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) between April and September.

If you have a location you would like to suggest please email [email protected], make sure you add ‘Doctor Bike’ in the title of your email to make sure we see your suggestion. Check out Cycle Hub Lincs – bicycle parking, repairs, hire in Grimsby for more information.
