What is the Joint Area Review?
The JAR is part of the new integrated inspection framework of children's services. The JAR will examine how services are contributing to the well-being of children and young people. Well-being is defined in terms of the 5 outcomes described in Every Child Matters:
- Be Healthy
- Stay Safe
- Enjoy and Achieve
- Make a Positive contribution
- Achieve economic well-being

North East Lincolnshire's Joint Area Review (JAR) took place during December 2006 and January 2007. The first stage of the review was the Annual Performance Assessment (APA) which took place in May and June 2006. The final APA statement that was submitted. The JAR looked at all services for children and young people across North East Lincolnshire and how they contributed to the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes whether provided by the council, partners or voluntary and community organisations.
