The following provides a summary of the admission policies used for by Schools within North East Lincolnshire. Please note this is only a summary guide, for full details refer to ' Your New School - A Guide for Parents 2008-2009' (pdf) (267 KB).
General Principles
If the number of applications for places at a particular school is higher than the admission number set for the school, the following factors will be used, in priority order, to decide which pupils will be given places. In addition, please note that priority is always given to those who have actually applied for places over those who fulfil any of the criteria but have not actually made an application.)

Voluntary Controlled School
(Matthew Humberstone Church of England)
The school's current admission arrangements follow the community schools' categories and are only amended to reflect the schools voluntary controlled Church of England status.
- Special Cases.
- Living in the school's catchment area.
- Having brothers or sisters who are already at the school
- Evidence that the child and you are members of, and regularly go to a Church of England or other Christian church linked to the British Council of Churches. We will need to see a letter confirming this from your parish priest or other minister. You should send this with the application form.
- We will give priority to those living nearest to the school. (If there is a choice of route, the distance measured is the shortest available safe route for pedestrians.)
