Admissions of Pupils of School Age New to North East Lincolnshire or Pupils of School Age Transferring Between North East Lincolnshire Schools

If you are considering moving your children between schools at any time in their school life, we advise you to think carefully about the reasons for a possible move.  Parents/carers are naturally concerned to do the best for their children, but you may feel uncertain about what to do.  The following areas may help you to decide what you feel is right for your child.  In some instances it may not be possible to transfer pupils during Years 10 and 11 due to problems matching a child's examination and curriculum requirements.  However, in these situations a parent will always have the opportunity to appeal.

(In order to read pdf files you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. This is a free download from the internet and can be accessed from our  Downloads page.)

The aim of the booklets is to make it as easy as possible for parents to understand the procedures involved. The booklet goes into a lot of detail to explain the rules and procedures the Council has to follow to ensure that the system works as fairly as possible.

If you are considering transferring schools, we strongly advise you to read the booklet ' "Transferring Schools".

Applications for admissions into schools at normal times of admission or transfer are submitted on our application forms Common Application Form (Primary) and  Common Application Form (Secondary) and for casual admission or transfer at other times Casual Application/Transfer Form (Primary) and Casual Application/Transfer Form (Secondary).  Most parents prefer their children to go the local catchment school.  Click here to access maps of locations of primary and secondary schools in North East Lincolnshire.  Sometimes, however, parents prefer a school outside their own catchment area, but may find that there are no places are available.  Inevitably, therefore, some parents may be disappointed and choose to appeal against this decision.  These web-pages contain a summary of the information parents need to understand about the admission policies and appeal process.
