Corporate Environmental Responsibility
The Environment around us is changing, and everything we do has an impact on it, from the energy we use to the way we build. The council has a responsibility to protect the environment around us and we call this our corporate environmental responsibility.
Organisations have always taken into consideration social and economical factors when considering new business ventures for example, and looking at existing ones, but increasingly environmental factors are being considered as equally important. The environment provides a range of goods and services that we often take for granted including; drinking water, waste disposal, pollution management, food and not forgetting air. North East Lincolnshire Council is committed to incorporating Environmental issues into all its business; this includes water management, energy usage, and amount of recycled materials being used. We have now adopted a corporate environmental action plan that sets out how we plan to involve environmental issues in our business, by setting targets over the next 3 years, this can be viewed by clicking on the link to the right hand side of this page.
