Environmental Health
Welcome to the Environmental Health 'Home Page'

The Environmental Health Service is responsible for protecting the Health and Safety and Welfare of residents, workers and visitors to the area in a variety of ways. We are responsible for:
- Pollution Control - including noise, air, water, odours and dust pollution as well as contaminated land.
- Food Safety - including hygiene standards in food premises and contamination or deterioration in food products.
- Health and Safety Enforcement - for those premises where the Health and Safety Executive are not responsible.
- Port Health - including imported food inspection and conditions on board ships.
- Infectious Diseases - includes investigating infectious disease outbreaks.
- Licensing - including public entertainment, cinema's, sex shops, street collections, street trading, hackney carriages, private hire vehicles and many others.
- Animal Welfare - this section covers primarily stray dogs and the pest control service.
- Noise, Smell, Fumes, Smoke and General Residential Nuisances Advice
- Smoke Free
- Safer Food Better Business

- Skin Piercing - Safe Practice and Advice including Permanent Tattooing and Micropigmentation
