Environment Strategy
North East Lincolnshire Council is committed to ensuring that 'people in North East Lincolnshire live in a safe and clean environment'. This means reducing the impact we have on our natural environment and protecting it for future generations by reducing our carbon dioxide emissions, saving energy, re-cycling and using public transport.
In December 2003, the Authority adopted its Environmental Strategy. Titled, 'Redressing the Balance', this Strategy is currently being updated to reflect the development in understanding and current thinking on environmental issues, and we hope to publish the updated strategy on this web site soon.
The 2003 Strategy focused upon the environmental aspects of sustainable development within the Council. The main aim of which was to implement best environmental practises across the authority so that environmental issues could be considered equally among economic and social objectives.
