Statutorily Listed Buildings in North East Lincolnshire - Introduction

This document is a comprehensive list of all buildings on the List of Buildings of Architectural or Historic Interest in North East Lincolnshire as compiled by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

Buildings on the list are protected by law against works or alterations which would destroy or seriously affect their character. It is necessary for owners, prospective developers and/or their agents to seek Listed Building Consent for any proposed work to be carried out to the exterior, interior and within the building's curtilage. In addition, normal planning permission requirements may also apply.

This statutory procedure enables the Council to maintain a significant measure of statutory control over listed buildings and ensures the Council's role in protecting the built heritage of North East Lincolnshire. The majority of buildings on the List are Grade II.

The List is held and maintained by the Council's Conservation Officer, Tel. 01472 324266, to whom any initial queries regarding Listed Buildings should be made.
