Aboutthe Development Brief

The Development Brief is being prepared to guide the future development of land in the Central Promenade area.  This area is seen as an important focal point in the resort, and one which will set the standard for future development promoting the renaissance principles of good urban design within the resort.  Once adopted, the Brief will provide the framework for determining future planning applications in the Central Promenade area.

Consultation

In accordance with the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004 the Council has prepared for consideration the Strategic Environment Assessment.

Comments on this document should be made in writing using either of the following methods:

By email to ldf@nelincs.gov.uk; or

By post marked for the attention of Diane Wheeler, Forward Planning, North East Lincolnshire Council, Civic Offices, Knoll Street, Cleethorpes, DN35 8LN.

Comments should be received by the Council no later than 5pm on Monday 19th March 2007.

Strategic Environmental Assessment

North East Lincolnshire Council is currently in the process of developing the above Central Promenade Development Brief.  This strategic document falls within the scope of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004.  The Council is required to consult a number of statutory bodies, under regulation 12(6) of the Regulations a deadline of 5 weeks is given for their comments.

Adoption

The Central Promenade Development Brief was adopted by the Council on the 19th April 2007. A copy of the adopted document along with the accompanying Sustainability Appraisal Statement and Property Market Analysis Report can be viewed using the links below.

Previous Development Brief Documents

Following consultation on the Initial Development Brief (25th Oct to 29th Nov 2007) the Council has revised the Development Brief in light of comments received.  A copy can be viewed using the link below.

As is required by section 12(1) of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004, the Council is required to undertake a Scoping Exercise to determine the scope and level of detail that must be included in the final Environmental Report of the Development Brief (currently scheduled for adoption in April 2007).
