Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment Methodology Consultation

How to make comments
Where can I see a copy of the document?

The Council has prepared the SHLAA Draft Assessment Methodology document in order to consult on a robust and transparent assessment or sieving mechanism for use by the Assessment Partnership. The document contains an explanation of the assessment process and sets out a Methodology Form which will be used by the Assessment Partnership to assess the potential and suitability of each of the proposed sites for inclusion in the SHLAA 2008.

The Assessment Partnership will be comprised of officers from within the Council representing spatial policy, development management, highways, conservation, ecology, education, health, contamination etc. Outside bodies such as the Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive, Anglian Water Services, Highways Agency, DEFRA, infrastructure providers, builders association, etc. will be invited to become Assessment Partners, the partnership will then assess the proposed sites from their professional perspectives.

The Council is currently seeking comments on the SHLAA Draft Assessment Methodology document and in particular the relevance of the assessment questions included in it. The Council would be particularly interested in your views with specific regard to your area of interest or expertise.

It must be stressed that at this time this is NOT an assessment of the proposed sites nor is it an invitation to submit sites for consideration.
