Neighbourhood Safety Scheme
Neighbourhood Safety Scheme
The new Neighbourhood Safety Scheme service went live on July 1 and is part of a major scheme aimed at cracking low level environmental crime and anti social behaviour.
The new scheme has brought together the council's Park Pride, Safe and Clean and Neat Streets Team and seen all wardens receive the same training and patrol in the same uniform. This union of the three former services has seen an improvement in services provided to the community and a greater sharing of cross cutting skills and knowledge.
Currently there are 17 wardens working in three teams across the borough and a further 23 wardens are being recruit over the next few months to bring the scheme up to full strength with 40 Wardens.
The wardens are working in partnership with all agencies including Humberside police with joint patrols taking place with Police Community Support Officers from Humberside Police. This has allowed them to share skills and co-operate to improve our communities.
