Christmas Trees

A prickly EIGHT MILLION CHRISTMAS TREES will be bought this year in the UK, generatating over 12,000 TONNES of additional rubbish.

If you chose a real tree this year, please refer to the information below for council disposal services available in North East Lincolnshire.  With your co-operation we can lessen the impact on our environment, by ensuring your used Christmas tree is recovered for agricultural composting :-

You can present used real trees in your next Garden Waste bin for the next scheduled collection service.

If your household does not have a Garden Waste collection service you can either :-

• Contact the council's WASTE HOTLINE : 01472 325841 to arrange a one-off collection of your used real Christmas tree from your home address.
• Transport your used trees to either of the Community Recycling Centres at Estuary Way, off Gilbey Road in Grimsby and Queens Road, Immngham.

* Please note Garden Waste Collections are temporarily suspended for two weeks over the Christmas period, to ensure maximum resources are available to clear household waste over the festive season. More details will be posted on this page later in the year.
