What do you mean by consent?

Each day Children and Family Services receive many enquiries requesting assistance or sharing concerns about children, families or adults.

These enquiries come from a number of people such as health workers e.g. nurses and health visitors, schools staff, police or members of the local community.

In most cases we like to discuss the concerns with you first and ask for your permission or "consent" to make enquiries with other agencies or to make an assessment of what help you need.

If the enquiry has come from another agency, we ask that they have asked for your "consent" before they contact us.
