Any school can participate, but schools must have successfully achieved the criteria for National Healthy School Status (NHSS) before they can move onto the enhancement model.
Schools will also continue to have an annual review to ensure they are maintaining the 41 criteria for health and well-being laid through the process of becoming a Healthy School, as this will continue to be the bedrock for further health promotion activities in schools.
