Why do some children need a residential placement?

Also in emergencies Children may come into the intake childrens home whilst a plan is devised as to the child's future accommodation needs.

Sometimes childrens' disabilities may necessitate full time care in a building adapted to meet their care needs.

Accommodation

North East Lincolnshire principally place in our own in-house residential placements.

The Authority runs four childrens homes. These are all aimed at children aged 10 years or older:

  • A six bedded reception/short term home in Grimsby
  • A three bedded long term home in Cleethorpes
  • A four bedded long term home in Grimsby
  • A three bedded long term learning disability annexe to our respite disability home

The local authority has provided smaller long term homes to provide less institutional smaller scale care environments.

All our homes are registered and inspected by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) with one currently rated adequate, two currently rated good, and one excellent. The addresses of these facilities are not public information for Child Protection reasons.
