The Security Service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides a full range of services. We are able to provide comprehensive and flexible security services to all clients.
Our aim is to assess susceptibility to crime and identify cost effective solutions for our clients. We offer expert advice on all aspects of security and have designed our services to meet the needs of the client, working closely with our partners to offer security options using the latest technology.
Based locally, our staff are committed to providing the highest standards of service. They are Security Industry Association (SIA) licensed professionals, security vetted and fully trained, including extensive dog training to National Association of Security Dog Users standards, and participate in annual certificated refresher courses. They are uniformed and wear both NELC ID badges and SIA licence badges.
Annually we respond to over 1000 activations and assistance requests. Operating 24 hours a day gives clients the reassurance that their valuable assets are being patrolled and monitored at vulnerable times and any incidents will be dealt with effectively, with the minimum of disruption to the client.

Patrol staff are fully licensed dog handlers and are accompanied by one of our trained patrol dogs. They are in constant radio contact with the Control Room enabling an immediate response to alarms.
All patrols are verified using an electronic reader which records the areas visited and precise times. This is downloaded each day and can be used for insurance purposes. If required, this information can be emailed directly to the client, offering the reassurance that service level agreements are adhered to.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all information held by Security Services is up to date including:
- Key holder details
- Lock changes
- Door and keypad code changes
- Building works
- Anything which may threaten the health and safety of patrol staff
To ensure a full and flexible service is maintained Security Services may at times engage the use of sub-contractors when undertaking short term or short notice static guarding duties. In these cases only fully licensed staff will be used. All sub-contract staff will be managed and monitored by Security Services and will work to our guidelines and procedures.
Security Services provides a confidential waste service for council departments and external customers, ensuring the safe collection and disposal of documents.
