Disability Symbol promotion

North East Lincolnshire Council is recognised by the Employment Service for its commitment to the employment of people with a disability.
We will:
- Interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.
- Consult employees with a disability regularly and ask at least once a year what we can do to make sure they can develop and use their abilities at work.
- Make every effort if employees become disabled to help them stay in employment.
- Take action to ensure that all employees develop an appropriate level of awareness of disability issues.
- Review these commitments every year, looking at what has been achieved, planning ways to improve and letting employees know about progress and future plans.
What else does North East Lincolnshire Council offer to people with a disability?
- We can provide recruitment information in different formats and make any necessary adjustments to interview arrangements.
- Our jobs are advertised on a dedicated website that aims to promote "Local disabled people fulfilling local needs".
- A Disability Awareness and Support group meets at regular intervals to share and discuss issues of interest or concern.
