North East Lincolnshire Arts Forum

The Arts Forum was formed in 1998 by NELC Arts Development Team to provide a platform for creative people and those with an interest in the arts. It has since become an independent, formally constituted body and is in the process of applying for charitable status.

The Arts Forum meets in various venues throughout North East Lincolnshire and also puts on events to showcase the work of its members, the biggest of which is the month long annual Arts Forum Festival. Following public meetings in 2002 and 2007 the Arts Forum created the following mission statement and goals. It is currently working to deliver these aspirations with support from Arts Development.

Arts Forum Mission Statement and Goals

• Promote and encourage creative individuals and groups in providing a varied and dynamic programme of arts events within the region
• Obtain funding to further the aims and goals of the group
• Offer support to its members through working to create an arts marketing infrastructure including: mailing lists & leaflet distribution
• Sharing of information/advice to support all members work
• Act as a lobbying group to improve the arts and culture within the area including arts facilities
• Establish a web presence
• Establish an arts directory promoting professional/amateur artists and groups within the region
