The Slipways

From 6th April 2007 all members of the public wishing to launch from one of our slipways will be required to register with the Beach Safety Team and obtain a permit.
The exceptions to this rule are of those members of the public who already belong to the following groups:
- Cleethorpes Inshore Commercial fishermen
- Grimsby and Cleethorpes Divers
- Humber Cruising Association
From the above date, previously installed metal gates and bollards will be closed and locked. Fully paid up members of the above four groups will issued with a key and ID disc for their boats, trailers and cars. Members wishing to launch from any one of the three slipways can retrieve their craft at any other slipway (the key will fit all three locks).

It must be stressed there are no time limits on launching for the above club members, as divers, commercial Fishermen and HCA members who have their own key can launch or recover whenever they wish.
Members of the public who wish to day launch will still be able to do so by giving 48 hrs notice and providing the following:
- Provide a valid Insurance certificate for the craft in the current owner's name.
- Datatag or ID number in the current owner's name.
- Relevant proficiency certificate (in the owners name, minimum RYA Powerboat level 2 or an internationally recognised equivalent or for a PWC, a proficiency certificate)
- Proof of identity (Driving licence, ID card or passport)
In addition, all members of the public must carry mandatory safety equipment.
Providing the above documentation with 48 hours notice does not guarantee a day launch. Please contact the Beach Safety Duty Officer for more information.
