The Sea and the Beach at Cleethorpes
Cleethorpes' popularity grew in the 19th century because of its excellent beaches and miles of beautiful golden sand. North East Lincolnshire Council work hard to ensure that the beaches are maintained to a high standard, ensuring the seafront remains a pleasant place for visitors and a haven for wildlife.
Cleethorpes beach has recently gained 2 Quality Coast Awards, the Bucket and Spade and Away From It All. Work is well underway to make sure we secure the Blug Flag Award in 2009.

Beach Litter Clean Ups/ Clearing Debris from the Sand Pit/ Boating Lake, are welcome from individuals, groups, clubs, societies and organisations. Please contact the Beach Safety Team or the Resort Manager for more details on these events.
Educational Talks about the role of the Beach Safety Team are also available.

The Council's Beach Safety Team encourage the use of small pleasure craft off the resort. However, the team is keen to ensure that vessels are used safely and users respect the rules, for their own safety and that of the users around them.
