Southern Marsh-orchid

Datylorhiza praetermissa

The Southern Marsh-orchid is the darker of the two orchids in the picture and can be found on the Sand Dunes growing at its most northern limit. It flowers from May to June.

Common Spotted-orchid

Dactylorhiza fuchsii

The Common Spotted-orchid, the paler of the orchids in the picture is the most common of all the orchids. The petals are pal pink with dark flecks. The flowers take over from the Southern Marsh-orchid flowering from June to August.
