Fishing Licence

How to get your Fishing Licence

Rod licences are not difficult to obtain. They are available from all of the 17,000 post offices in England and Wales. Remember also that there are some 2,000 outlets which sell rod licences outside normal post offices, including at weekends.

Failure to produce a valid agency rod licence when fishing is a criminal offence, and offenders will be prosecuted. The maximum fine is £2,500. With increased attention being paid to licence evasion, and with bailiffing effort being made, the chances of getting caught if you fish without a licence are ever increasing.
