Sea View Street

Sea View Street was the first main shopping street before St Peter's Avenue was developed. The building pictured was used for the slaughter house and the building on the left was the bake house. Unfortunately this burned down in 1995.

In the 1960's Water Wheel Antiques was a museum and prior to that an abattoir. The oldest shop in Cleethorpes is Hermes Antiques and the oldest house is a fisherman's cottage, situated just off Seaview Street. It became a hospital during the Second World War but it is now a shop called  Bethan's Little Folk. Brent Electronics used to be a dairy. If you look on the doorstep you can see 'Meadows Dairy Co. Ltd' printed on the tiles.
