The Boy With The Leaking Boot
John Carlbom gave this statue to Cleethorpes in 1918 as a mark of gratitude.
The Boy with the Leaking Boot was a fountain that stood in the Pier Gardens. The water was pumped into his boot and trickled out of a hole at the toe of the boot. The statue now has an artificial arm and boot as the originals were damaged during the war. It currently resides in the Town Hall and a replica is on view at the Tourist Information Centre on Alexandra Road. There are various stories about the statue and replicas can be found all over the world.
