Waltham
there's more than just countryside!
The following information has been compiled by Matthew Humberston School with the aid of North East Lincolnshire Council.
This large expanding village still retains much of its old world charm. The most magnificent feature is the windmill. Built in 1880, the mill is unusual in that it features six sails. It was also the last working windmill in Lincolnshire and can still be seen working on milling days throughout the year. The surrounding buildings house specialist craft shops, a restaurant and a rural museum containing many items of old farm machinery.
Some historians also believe that a second mill was once present in the village, sited close to the village stock on the corner of Barnoldby Road and the High Street.
