Grimsby Central Reference Library reopened on Monday 6 March 2000 after undergoing a major refurbishment.
The department had remained virtually unchanged since it was first opened over thirty years ago. The refurbishments have allowed the library to introduce up-to-date information and communications technology, as well as expand its range of books and study places. In addition to general reference works, the Reference Library houses the Local Studies collection, resources for Family History research, a Business Information collection and European Information (EPIC).
