Weelsby Woods is a relatively new area of open space to the Authority, as it didn't come into its care until 1950. It was given to the Borough of Grimsby by Boston Deep Sea Fishing and Ice Company Ltd. Prior to this, the grounds belonged to Weelsby Villa. They still have a parkland character; with trees topped by large majestic crowns planted in open settings.

Weelsby Woods are easily accessible from both Grimsby and Cleethorpes and are very well used for informal recreation.  The area contains more natural areas, as well as open grassland, play facilities and car parking.

A group called Friends of  Weelsby Woods is being created.  If you would like to be involved with this group, please contact Sue Pearson on 01472 325812 or e-mail sue.pearson@nelincs.gov.uk

Should you require any more information or wish to report a fault or incident, please call 01472 324500 or E-Mail customerrequests@nelincs.gov.uk
