Positive Futures is a joint partnership between Sport England, the Youth Justice Board and the United Kingdom Anti-Drugs Co-ordination Unit. The aim of the initiative is to use sport to reduce anti-social behaviour, as well as crime and drug use, among 10-19 year olds within local neighbourhoods who are at risk of becoming involved in crime and substance abuse.
Sport Lincs
Sport Lincs is a partnership between Humberside Police, North East Lincolnshire Council's Sports Development, positive Futures and Young Peoples Support Service and Grimsby Town Football in the Community.
This multi agency partnership has been established in order to reduce Anti Social Behaviour and Youth Crime. It aims to engage young people in positive activities which are used as a tool to develop good social skills as well as giving young people "something to do, some where to go"
The programme aims to use sport as a stimulant to encourage young people to make their own positive influential decisions and to enrich their lifestyles with future educational and employment opportunities through the means of regular physical activity.
The guidance and support from session staff of many different expertises will influence the young people massively, in North East Lincolnshire's case this is; Sports Development, The Young people's Service and Humberside Police and Grimsby Town Football in the Community; who are all working towards similar agendas and can really nourish these young people with the support, encouragement and loyalty they need.
