Volunteers make sport possible
Volunteers are the most valuable resource to the sports sector, from helping out with the Olympics in order for it run smoothly to helping out at your local leisure centre. The more volunteers recruited leads to more opportunities for sports and sporting activities.
North East Lincolnshire Council have developed a Sports Volunteer Opportunity Form which the local sports clubs can fill in with the details of any volunteering vacancies they may have!
Volunteers make sport possible. Without the help of volunteers there would be far less sport in North East Lincolnshire.
Through volunteering many people gain experience and qualifications. It enables people to give something back to a sport they have enjoyed for many years or to help their local community providing people with activities that they enjoy and that keep them healthy.
The amount of volunteers has increased rapidly through the information published on the website: click here to view existing details.
We have already had one success story through this new opportunity; The Grimsby Penguins Swimming club has gained volunteers to assist in coaching in swimming sessions.
All you have to do is submit your contact details, such as why you need help form volunteers and what benefits they will achieve, when the opportunity to volunteer will be available and what qualities you need to become a one, these details are to be submitted to Hannah Philips.
This opportunity is advantageous for you in recruiting volunteers for your club or organisation and also for the volunteers themselves who are able to gain new recognised sporting qualifications
For further information or to submit any information please contact Hannah Philips, Sports Development Officer Volunteers, on 01472 323366 or hannah.philips@nelincs.gov.uk
