Children's Fund
Funding: £250- £7,000
Funder: Government funding
Aim: The fund was set up to prevent children and their families suffering the consequences of poverty. The Yorkshire and Humber Sure Start and Children's Fund team is supporting 15 local Children's Fund programmes, to deliver preventative services for 5-13 year olds in the region. The main focus of the programme for 2004-5 will be "mainstreaming" of Children's Fund culture and practice to meet outcomes of the Government's "Every Child Matters" Green Paper.
Who can apply? Organisations, parents and children who are developing services and activities for children aged between 5-13.

Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
Funding:
£525m for the 88 most deprived areas in 2005-6. The Chancellor has announced £525m for 2006-7 and 2007-8, no decision has yet been made on which areas will be eligible for these new resources.
Funder: Government funding
Aim: To narrow the gap between deprived neighbourhoods and the rest of the country. They aim to deliver economic prosperity, make communities safe, provide high quality education and decent housing, improve the health of the poorest parts of the country and to improve the quality of the physical environment.
Who can apply?
Community groups can apply for the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund. You should stress the health and educational benefits of your group/ club in order to fit in with the Fund's aims.
