Sports Development Summer Holiday Activities
Sports Development Summer Holiday Activities
Are you interested in sport? Do you have children who would like to get more involved in a particular sports activity? If so, then the Sports Development Unit Summer Holiday Programme may be of interest to you.
Working in partnership with a variety of agencies such as the Community Youth Programme, local sports organisations and other community groups the Sports Development Unit is offering a wide range of activities including netball, athletics, table tennis, badminton, basketball, cricket, multi sports days and road safety throughout the forthcoming summer holiday period. All activities will be run by qualified sports coaches employed by the sports development unit and are operating throughout the whole of North East Lincolnshire.
The programme has been organised to provide young people with an introduction to and opportunities to develop participation in these activities. Young people who are enthused by any of the activities offered will be encouraged to pursue their interest in the activity after this period through links with local clubs and other development opportunities.
Chris Jones, Development Manager added: "These activities provide an opportunity for young people to stay active through the long summer break and take part in a variety of sporting activities. Whether you're a beginner or experienced sports person, these activities provide an opportunity for everyone. Once again the Sports Development Unit has put together an exciting, fun and active programme!"
The activities are aimed at targeting all young people throughout the area to get them involved in structured sports activities throughout the summer. Each activity is aimed at a particular age group and is run in local facilities throughout North East Lincolnshire. There is a minimal cost to most activities, however please check the programme as this varies across the activities on offer.
It is essential that anyone interested in attending any of the activities, books onto them prior to the morning of the session. If you would like more information about the activities on offer and how to book onto them then please contact Nicola Massingham, Active Communities Officer, on 01472 323347
