Get Into Volunteering (GiV)

GiV logoGet into Volunteering is a new scheme developed by the Sports Development unit for the area of North East Lincolnshire.

GiV is aimed at young people between the ages of 14-16 year olds. The programme provides opportunities for young volunteers to build up hours in a sporting environment and be rewarded when target hours have been reached.

  • Silver: 25 Hours of Volunteering
  • Gold: 50 Hours of Volunteering

Hours can be accumulated at after school activities or lunch time practices etc, if you are already a member of a sports club you could volunteer there if you have a senior member of the club who agrees to work with you and sign your hours off

  • Bronze: 50 Hours of Volunteering
  • Silver: 100 Hours of Volunteering
  • Gold: 200 Hours of Volunteering

This is monitored through the use of a log book which is completed by the student and the Volunteer Coordinator. Clubs identify a suitable and appropriate person to become the Volunteer Coordinator. Their key role will be to provide on-going support to ensure that the young person has an appropriate and high quality volunteering experience.

Volunteer Coordinators in clubs are supported with resources and training. Clubs (with Volunteer Coordinator in place) take on young people as volunteers.
