Summer Sporting Fun
The sports development unit at North East Lincolnshire Council is offering a range of sports activities for young people over the summer holidays, including football coaching, multi sports activities, angling, road safety and athletics.
Activities have been organised across North East Lincolnshire in partnership with a range of organisations including the Community Youth Programme, Angling Community Education, Cleethorpes Community First Development Trust, Freeman Street Resource Centre and West Marsh Community Centre.
The sports development unit work closely with community organisations in the delivery of holiday sports activities for young people. They help by providing qualified sports coaches, equipment and facilities, as well as assisting groups to secure external funding for their activities and publicising the events throughout the area.
Councillor Geoff Lowis, portfolio holder for regeneration and community learning said: "The sports development unit is offering a wide range of activities for young people throughout the summer with the aim of encouraging more young people to develop their skills and interest in sport."
